Robotics Technician | Plainwell, MI

Salary Range: $59,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, set up, and commission industrial robotic systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on robotic cells.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and software malfunctions in robots.
  • Program, teach, and calibrate robot paths and end-of-arm tooling for production processes.
  • Execute timely repairs and replace faulty components to minimize manufacturing downtime.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards for all robotic operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and system configuration changes.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Robotics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Kuka) in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in programming, teaching, calibrating, and troubleshooting robotic systems and controllers.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi) for robot integration.
  • Proficiency in industrial vision systems setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing cell layouts, tooling designs, or mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet) and troubleshooting.
