Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available at an elementary school in Shawnee, KS, working with early childhood students aged Pre-K. This full-time, contract position spans the current school year through May 22, 2026, focusing on supporting learners with special needs within a structured and supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of students aged Pre-K.
• Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies to promote educational growth.
• Managing a caseload of 8-18 students, providing specialized support and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborating with colleagues to create inclusive learning experiences and support services.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification applicable to the early childhood setting.
• Experience working with Pre-K aged children in a special education context.
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and special education best practices.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and team members.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Location: Shawnee, KS (with priority placement at an Early Childhood Center in Kansas City, KS)
